Damon grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He has always been interested in architecture, design, and nature. Following advice from one of his most influential professors which inspired him to pursue Landscape Architecture, he graduated from Iowa State University in 2012, with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Environmental Studies.
After college, he worked for a design build Landscape Architecture firm in the Chicago area for a few months. However, as the 25th freezing winter of his life was fast approaching, he decided that he wanted to practice Landscape Architecture in a warmer part of the country where construction could occur throughout the entire year. In 2011, he was offered an internship at RJI, drove himself down to Miami, and the rest is history.
Presently, as a senior project coordinator at RJI, Damon is leading many exciting projects ranging from large residential estate gardens and multi-home compounds to small residential garden oases, as well as urban streetscape environments and intimate restaurant gardens.
