Associate
Associates work under the direction of Senior Associates to help move design ideas forward and coordinate the production, organization and accuracy of drawing sets and presentation documents. Associates should be well organized and excellent communicators in order to successfully work with project team members, clients, consultants, contractors and agency officials. They should be logical design thinkers and fluent at drawing (by hand or digitally) to iterate and problem solve.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university. Architectural degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Minimum 4 years of professional practice in Landscape Architecture or related fields
- Additional licenses and/or LEED certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating document sets, technical detailing, permitting coordination and project installation
- Project coordination experience
- Experience with recent releases of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with recent releases of SketchUp, Rhino and Lumion is preferred.
- Understanding of plant material and planting design concepts
- Good communication, time management and collaboration skills

Responsibilities
- Preparation of documents for Founding Principal’s use
- Executes assigned research and investigation tasks such as site analysis
- Creates analytical and conceptual drawings, graphics, and 3D models
- Develop and coordinate all aspects of project design from conceptual sketches through to construction documentation under the guidance of the Project Manager
- Initiate creative problem solving and contribute to collaborative design environment
- Prepare and manage design presentation packages
- Prepare and manage drawing sets
- Work with the Project Manager to draft project workplans and task lists
- Manage and accurately organize all incoming project data from clients and consultants
- Coordinate with external design teams to receive, process, integrate and respond to design updates as needed
- Oversee aspects of your internal team including tracking task/deliverables progress, drafting meeting minutes and action items
- Represent RJI in client, design team and public meetings as needed
- Coordinate with and mentor junior team members
- Visit project sites to coordinate with contractors and monitor construction during the project build/installation process
- Manage and respond to RFIs as needed
- May require domestic or international travel for client meetings and/or project site visits
