Cristian was born in Santiago, Chile, where the diverse landscapes of his homeland deeply influenced his passion for architecture and landscape design. Chile’s unique geography, from the arid expanses of the Atacama Desert and the towering Andes peaks to the rugged Pacific coastline, fertile valleys, and the hidden glaciers of Patagonia, shaped his vision and approach to design.
Cristian earned his professional degree in Architecture with honors from Universidad Finis Terrae in Santiago, Chile, completing a rigorous six-year program. He became a licensed architect in 2015, accumulating over eight years of experience, primarily in residential and multifamily design.
Driven by a strong commitment to the public realm, Cristian founded a non-profit organization to support low-income families affected by the devastating 2008 earthquake in Chile. His work extended to affordable housing and landscape design projects. He also served as Vice President of the BIM Committee at the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile and is a member of the Instituto Chileno de Arquitectos Paisajistas.
In Chile, Cristian led his own practice, where he focused on integrating landscape design into his architectural projects. In 2020, he was one of only two Latin American architects offered admission to the prestigious Master’s in Landscape Architecture program at Harvard University, from which he graduated in 2022. During his four years in Massachusetts he was working on the validation of his architectural credentials in the United States.
While at RJI Cristian is also pursuing his landscape architecture license. Additionally, he is enrolled in a second master’s program in International Real Estate at Florida International University, with the goal of seamlessly blending architecture and landscape in innovative real estate developments.
Outside of his professional life, Cristian is dedicated to his family. He spends his free time with his wife Pilar, his daughter, Clara, and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of his son, Domingo.
