Originally from Turkey, Elif has always been drawn to the connection between people and their environments. This interest led her to study architecture, where she developed a strong foundation in spatial thinking and design. After practicing architecture for a few years, she became increasingly interested in the living systems that shape and surround the built environment. With the encouragement of her professor, she pursued graduate studies in landscape architecture, where she found a deeper sense of purpose in designing with nature and ecology in mind.
After moving to the U.S. in 2022 for her graduate studies, Elif split her time between Providence and Boston. There, she gained experience in residential projects and became familiar with the native ecologies of New England. Now based in Miami, Elif is excited to immerse herself in the rich biodiversity of tropical landscapes. She brings a multidimensional perspective to every project, designing landscapes that are rooted in place, responsive to people and ecology, and rich with feeling.
Outside the studio, Elif is a storyteller at heart. She explores ideas through photography and filmmaking. Food is also a big part of her culture and joy. She loves hosting and turning dinners into moments of connection. Music has always been a part of her life: she started playing violin at the age of eight and is now learning piano. Whether documenting through the lens, experimenting in the kitchen, or practicing music, Elif is always observing, feeling, and translating life into layered forms.
