Born and raised in Jiangyin, a small city in China, Ziyi developed an early fascination with the natural world—a passion that would ultimately shape her architectural career. She pursued architectural studies at Southeast University and Columbia University, aiming to explore and improve the connection between people and the spaces they inhabit.
Ziyi’s academic journey reflects her dedication to blending creativity, innovation, and sustainability in design. At Columbia, Ziyi’s projects spanned a range of topics, including ecosystem restoration, social issues, and natural, sustainable practices. She believes that the interaction between architectural spaces, nature, and human beings is essential and remains committed to envisioning and creating environments that leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
A transformative trip to Costa Rica sparked Ziyi’s lasting admiration for tropical climates, introducing her to the rich complexity of tropical ecosystems and ultimately drawing her to Miami’s lush environment.
Outside of work, Ziyi enjoys traveling and photography, exploring diverse landscapes and cultures as she continues her journey of discovery and design.
